Connor's First Birthday Party....

Connor's First Birthday cake.....just his size. At first, he gently poked it, then got some in his hand and licked it. He looked around at everyone like "This is okay...right?" At one point he had his little hand smack dab in the center of the cake and kept pulling yummy pieces of it out and into his mouth.
This is the first birthday banner that I made for Connor's high chair. The sailboat banner was stitched on my sewing machine...then I machine appliqued the sailboat on to it. The number one is machine stitched on also. Connor's name and the word "is" are red chipboard scrapbooking letters....they were far better letters than I could have made by hand...although my Silhouette would have done a good job. The banner was hung on red jute cording and completed with nautical print ribbons and oversized ric-rac. It turned out bright and cheerful...just right for a sweet little boy's first birthday!

Oh, how sweet he is... and the banner is wonderful! Are you planning on making one every year? Should be a lovely sight seeing them all in the room when he turns forty or so...*lol*
