Today Was Interesting.....

The temperature was over 60 degrees today....it was humid, with thunderstorm and tornado warnings. Very strange January weather for the Midwest...but better than 3-4 feet of snow.
When I went out to get the mail....the metal mailbox door was crumpled and the post was leaning.....okay....the garbage truck probably hit it. I had to really tug on the door to get it open...and after I got the mail out I couldn't close it until I held on to the post and pushed hard to force it closed.
On my way back to the house....I noticed that all the snow was melted on the driveway...and that the end of the driveway that we just had fixed a couple of months ago had been plowed up again by the village snowplow....the nice smooth driveway was now a pile of blacktop and falling over into the gulley that goes under the drive....nice. By this time, Jim came outside with me to look things over and tell me how to fix everything that was falling apart...so I shoveled the loose blacktop away from the driveway pipe and we fixed the mailbox so that it really opened and closed again.
But the best part of the day (And I'm definitely being sarcastic) came a little later. I was sitting on the couch thinking it would be nice if we lived in an apartment where someone else had to fix broken things ...when the doorbell rang. A woman and a man stood there. As I was trying to get the locked storm door open...(It sticks)...the woman told me her name and looked at me as though I were expecting her. I guess I must have looked at her blankly...because she rummaged around in her purse and brought out a mangled card and said that she was a Real Estate Agent. I still wasn't anymore enlightened about this information...when she looked at me disgustedly and said "I have a showing here tonight." Well...it was news to me! But I did tell her that she might be looking for the house two doors down that actually was for sale. She said "No...it's this house... number Five". I said that my house is number Four....and she said...."Are you sure?" I'm glad today is over.

I'm sorry but I had to laugh! I'm not I would want to buy a house from someone who can't read. ;)
