Stormy Weather.......

We've had days and days of rain....and not just gentle drops tapping on the roof. The kind of rain that blows sideways in gusts of 65 to 80 miles an hour. The kind that keeps you going back down to the basement praying "Please don't let the sump pump die now...it's 3 in the morning." The kind that makes you invent something wonderful for dinner out of a box of crackers, a clove of garlic and two pieces of salami....just so you don't have to go to the store. The kind that (Since it's also hot outside) mosquitoes ring my doorbell and invite me for dinner. The kind that leaves an enormous pond (I always wanted a house on the water) in our backyard. The kind where lightning strikes and you can feel the vibration of just how close it was. The kind where people are standing knee deep in water...in their living rooms. The kind where trees that stood for so many years...fall over...usually on top of the closest car. The kind that makes you hope the television doesn't go out because you HAVE to see the weather report of the funnelclouds, flooding, stranded cars, crying homeowners and exhausted city and village workers. But it's the kind of rain that lets you see how good people can be to each other... and maybe we need the storms to make us remember that.

Shoot- hope you can stay dry and safe!! That rain sounds terrible. We don't get any, so we burn burn burn...the ring of fire.
